Here’s the quick money check-in that helps me feel organized, intentional and in control of our finances.

What’s the first thing you check when you sit down to review your finances?

1. Review all bank account and credit card balances. Don’t stress about the balance, this is just information. You can’t reach your goal if you don’t know where you’re starting.
2. Pay yourself first. Transfer money to your emergency fund and your retirement accounts. Even better, automate this and be done with it.
3. Bonus tip: Make sure the money in your investment accounts are actually invested, not sitting on cash
4. Schedule an extra debt payment. Start with your highest-interest account. Even an extra $25 makes a difference in the long run
5. Pick one item from your to-sell pile and list it
6. Designate 1 day a week as a no-spend day
7. Celebrate any financial wins. A raise, your last student loan payment, a reduced interest rate, staying in budget last month—nothing is too small.
8. Review your subscriptions, cancel what you’re not using. I bet you’d be surprised if you made a list. I certainly was 😬
9. Set one savings goal for the month and put money towards it. For example: a vacation, Christmas presents, home repairs, new car, etc.
10. Meal plan. Groceries are getting more expensive by the week. Planning ahead and make-once/eat twice meals can cut down on time and money. Stock up when things are on sale.
11. Set your spending plan for the month. Give your money a job before the month gets busy. Once your safety nets are funded, enjoy your life, guilt-free.

If you’re feeling very boss babe, check your net worth. Update your assets and debts to track your progress.

If you know someone who wants to feel more confident with their finances, share this post with them. And follow @thejoyfulrobin for simple money habits, mindset shifts, and practical tips to help you spend less, save more and design a life you love.

I gave myself 30 days to attract enough money to buy a new @apple watch. Thanks to @fetchrewards, I’m now $50 closer to my goal.

Financial abundance starts when you begin noticing the money that is already showing up in your life, not when you make more money.

Every small win, unexpected discount, freebie, gift card or act of generosity is evidence that good things are already finding their way to you. If you dismiss those moments because they aren’t life-changing, you’re training your brain to focus on what’s missing instead of what’s possible.

The more you train yourself to see abundance, the more abundant your life begins to feel. What you focus on grows.

Ready to attract more money? Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the steps I used to go from broke and unemployed to having cash in the bank.
